Work Credits and Usage

John runs on work credits. You buy a monthly plan or a top-up; usage (AI models, connected apps, private workspace time, and some skills) draws from that balance. The dashboard label for model usage is AI spend.

Open Billing to buy credits and Usage to see what they paid for.

Plan Price (USD / month) Credits
Solo $19 17,100
Pro $45 40,500
Team $129 116,100 (coming soon - not purchasable yet)

Prices are USD and exclude VAT. Checkout and top-ups can show your local currency where Stripe supports it. Monthly plans grant more credits per dollar than one-off top-ups.

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from Billing and from Stripe’s customer portal:

  • Upgrade - you are charged the difference now.
  • Downgrade or cancel - takes effect at the end of the current period.

Your account must be activated (offer code) before checkout. Start here.

Buy extra credits from $5 to $500 (whole dollars). Suggested amounts: $5, $10, $20, $40, $60, $100, plus a custom amount. Larger top-ups include a small progressive bonus.

Top-ups are useful when a busy month outruns the plan, or when you are not ready for a subscription. They expire later than leftover plan credits (see buckets below).

Billing and Usage show each grant: what arrived, what is left, what was used, and what expired.

Typical buckets:

  • Monthly plan credits - unused credits can roll into the next cycle, then expire.
  • Top-ups - remain available until they expire (12 months after grant).
  • Referral rewards - 10,000 credits to you and to the person you invited after their first qualifying payment. Reward credits expire 12 months after grant. Invites.

Credits consume oldest-expiring first. For grant-level detail, open Credit buckets on Billing.

Enforcement is always on:

  • Creating or updating a private workspace needs a positive balance.
  • When credits reach zero, John pauses (the workspace stops running). He does not keep spending in the background.
  • After you top up, John can start again from the dashboard.

You may see a low-balance warning before that. Storage for your memory can still be billed while a paused workspace keeps its files.

Usage (Capacity activity) includes:

  • Current balance and next renewal date
  • AI models today - same-day estimate until the UTC day closes. It appears as a pending row until then.
  • Cost sources:
    • AI models
    • Connected apps
    • Private workspace (awake hours)
    • Workspace network
    • Workspace storage (daily, including while asleep)
    • Email received / sent (shown as free)
    • Skills (including premium video render when enabled)
  • Recent credit changes (grants, usage, expiry, adjustments)
  • Recent task receipts - content-free estimates per run (channel, model, AI steps, tool actions, estimated credits). No message content is collected for these receipts. After the day is finalized, the day’s provider total is final; each task’s share remains an estimate.

Workspace time is counted by the hour while the workspace is awake. You can let John sleep during quiet stretches.

To prevent runaway spend, ordinary work pauses after 25 AI steps and returns the best result so far. Ask John to continue to start another bounded turn.

  • Today’s AI spend is an estimate until the day closes.
  • Failed connected-app calls can still use credits (the connection provider still ran the call).
  • Task receipts stay estimates even after the day total is finalized.
